Sally Struthers opens up about her experience with Betty White, claiming she was fat-shamed during a visit.
Los Angeles: Sally Struthers is sharing her thoughts on the late Betty White. On a recent podcast, she felt it was time to speak up about her experience with the beloved actress.
Struthers mentioned that while everyone adored White, her own experience was quite different. She described White as a “very passive-aggressive woman.”
Struthers recalled a time when she visited White’s house to work on a game show pilot. After asking for snacks, a plate of cookies was brought out. But when Struthers reached for one, White made a comment that left her feeling embarrassed.
“Oh, I wouldn’t do that if I were you, dear. You don’t need a cookie,” Struthers quoted White. She felt it was a clear case of fat-shaming, especially since it was said in front of others.
In contrast, Struthers had fond memories of Bea Arthur, White’s co-star on the Golden Girls. She joked about how much she loved Arthur’s bold personality.
These days, Struthers is keeping busy with her role in Netflix’s comedy, A Man on the Inside, which has been renewed for a second season. It sounds like she’s doing well!
