Los Angeles: So, Sally Struthers recently opened up about her time with Betty White, and it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. On a podcast, she described Betty as “very passive aggressive.”

Struthers, now 77, recalled a moment when they were working on a game show pilot. She reached for a cookie, and Betty, in front of everyone, said, “Oh, I wouldn’t do that if I were you, dear, you don’t need a cookie.” Ouch, right?

At that moment, Sally thought, “That’s not nice.” She felt it was okay to share her story now that Betty has passed away. She knows everyone loved Betty, but her experience was different.

White’s rep hasn’t commented yet, but it’s clear Struthers didn’t have the best memories of her. Betty passed away in December 2021, just shy of her 100th birthday, after suffering a stroke.

Struthers also mentioned how she felt comfortable talking about this now. She remembered Betty’s humor and how she was loved by many, but her own experience was a bit of a downer.

It’s interesting to hear these behind-the-scenes stories, especially from someone like Sally, who’s been in the industry for so long. It just goes to show that not everything is as golden as it seems.
