A British tourist is back in the US to face charges after a crash in NY left two children critically injured
Rockland County: A young British tourist, Thomas Robb, is back in the US after a serious crash in July 2022. He drove the wrong way and hit another car, leaving two kids in critical condition.
Robb, who was just 20 at the time, fled to the UK after the accident. He was charged with several serious offenses, including assault and reckless driving. The crash injured Jacquelyn Pachay and her two young sons.
After being released on bail, he returned to Britain, which led to a judge issuing an arrest warrant. It took over two years of legal wrangling for him to be extradited back to the US.
He was driving a rented BMW when he collided with Pachay’s car, which then hit another vehicle. Witnesses said that other passengers in Robb’s car ran away after the crash.
Robb reportedly used one of his triplet brother’s passports to escape back home. He was eventually arrested in London at a health clinic.
His lawyer claims he is traumatized by the incident and made a mistake driving on the wrong side of the road. Meanwhile, Pachay suffered a shattered wrist, and her sons faced serious injuries.
Pachay expressed her anger over Robb’s actions, especially after he missed a court date. She feels he lacks remorse for the pain caused to her family.
Robb is set to appear in Rockland County Court soon, facing the consequences of that fateful day.
