A man from Pittsburg County faces murder charges after a fatal boating accident on Lake Eufaula in May 2024

Reagan is accused of causing the death of 25-year-old Charles Gustafson from Indianola. The authorities say he was drinking and using marijuana all day, which led to a blood alcohol level of 0.12.
He was reportedly driving the boat at night with passengers on board, creating a dangerous situation that anyone could see was risky. The accident happened near the Number 9 bridge in northeastern Pittsburg County.
According to reports, Reagan was at the helm of a 24-foot boat when it hit the west bank and crashed into some trees. There were two other people on the boat, and all three were involved in the incident.
Reagan was airlifted to a hospital in Tulsa, while another passenger went to McAlester Regional Health Center for treatment. Sadly, Gustafson was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.
An affidavit revealed that a passenger told troopers Reagan was driving and was under the influence of both alcohol and cannabis. It seems he was so impaired that he passed out just before the crash, causing the boat to accelerate dangerously.
Investigators found that the boat was running at nearly full throttle before the collision. Blood tests confirmed that Reagan was over the legal alcohol limit and had cannabis in his system.
