Peter M. Miller will retire as president and CEO of the Meadows Foundation in December 2025 after six impactful years of leadership.
Miller, who took on the role in January 2020, is actually the great-nephew of the Foundation’s founders. Under his guidance, the Foundation has really stepped up its game, focusing on key areas like homelessness and mental health.
He’s proud of the work done, saying it’s been an amazing experience. The Foundation has given over $1.4 billion in grants since 1948, and during Miller’s time, they’ve tackled big issues like depression and education.
Some highlights include a 24% drop in unsheltered homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties and a partnership with Dallas College to launch a new teacher prep program. They’ve also made strides in mental health care, integrating treatment into primary care visits.
Miller has also been involved in revitalizing the Wilson Historic District, which now houses over 35 nonprofits. Exciting projects are in the works, like a new childcare center and a hospice for homeless individuals. It’s clear he’s leaving a lasting impact on the community.
