Johnstown: Johnson’s Corner, a favorite truck stop known for its amazing cinnamon rolls, is closing for a bit. They’re remodeling to become a Black Bear Diner.

Eric Quintana, the General Manager, reassured everyone that they’re not shutting down for good. They’re just sprucing things up. The whole restaurant will be torn down and rebuilt, including the kitchen and bathrooms.

The remodeling is expected to take about three to four months, but that could change. The fuel station, convenience store, and gift shop will stay open during this time.

And don’t worry, those famous cinnamon rolls aren’t going anywhere! They’ll still be baked and available at the store. Johnson’s Corner has been a staple in Johnstown since 1952, a place where families gathered and travelers found a friendly stop.

Mayor Michael Duncan shared that this marks the end of an era for the town. Johnson’s Corner was more than just a restaurant; it was part of the community’s identity.

As Johnstown grows, with new developments like Buc-ee’s opening nearby, the transition of Johnson’s Corner is just one of many changes happening in the area.
