Irlam: So, there was this really worrying incident on Tuesday morning. A man and a woman tried to grab an 11-year-old girl while she was walking to school. It happened around 8:30 AM on Silver Street, near Cutnook Lane.

The girl managed to escape and ran to tell an adult, which is a relief. Apparently, the suspects were driving around in a car and a van. The police described the man as white, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with short dark hair, wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. The woman was also white and wore leggings and a black hoodie.

The car was a black four-door vehicle, and the van was small, white, and looked pretty new with a sliding door. Police are on it, investigating and have sent extra officers to the area to help reassure everyone.

They’re asking locals to check their dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from that time. If anyone saw anything suspicious, they should definitely reach out to the police. Detective Inspector Justin Bryant said they’re doing everything they can to look into this and keep the girl and her family updated and supported.
