He said they’re not slow; they’re just being careful. They hired three people on Sunday, and nobody is nervous except for the people spreading false info. Lombardi, who’s the new GM, made it clear that the report was totally made up.

Belichick has brought in some solid names, including former Browns coach Freddie Kitchens and his own son, Steve, as defensive coordinator. They’re working with a hefty $10 million budget for staff, so there’s still room to grow.

Some people, like the athletic director and ACC president, are worried about Belichick possibly leaving for the NFL, especially with some teams looking for coaches. There were even whispers about him chatting with Tom Brady about a return to coaching, but that seems to have fizzled out.
