New York: Brooke Shields recently opened up about Tom Cruise’s apology regarding their 2005 feud. She mentioned that he privately expressed regret over his comments about her use of antidepressants.

In her new memoir, Shields said Cruise’s apology wasn’t perfect, but she accepted it. Back in 2005, he had a pretty intense rant on the “Today” show, calling her “irresponsible” for taking medication during her battle with postpartum depression.

Shields stood up for herself then and even wrote an op-ed in response. She felt empowered to speak out, especially after becoming a mother. She realized she couldn’t just let someone like Cruise hijack her experience for his agenda.

Reflecting on the past, she noted that a decade earlier, she might have felt insecure about confronting a big star like him. But this time, she was ready to defend herself and raise awareness about postpartum depression.

Interestingly, Shields mentioned that Cruise had stopped sending her Christmas cakes after a decade, but it had nothing to do with their past feud. She even attended his wedding to Katie Holmes back in 2006.
