Brooke Shields opens up about her intimate life, revealing the challenges and remedies she uses to enhance her experience post-menopause

New York: Brooke Shields didn’t hold back in her new memoir, “Brooke Shields is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman.” She talked about how sex has become “painful” after menopause and how she needs “lotions and potions” to enjoy intimacy.
She mentioned that to fully enjoy sex now, she needs the right sleepwear, a “special pillow,” and maybe even a little tequila to help her relax. It’s a candid look at her life as she approaches 60.
Shields shared that she struggles with “vaginal dryness” and a “diminishing sex drive,” which has led her to seek extra help in the bedroom. Her doctor suggested testosterone, but she hasn’t gone that route yet.
She’s trying to embrace the idea that “the more you have it, the more you’ll enjoy it.” It’s a different story from her younger years when she had a “fervent sex drive.” Now, she sometimes pretends to be asleep to avoid intimacy with her husband, Chris Henchy.
Shields clarified that her lack of enthusiasm isn’t about her husband, who she still finds attractive, but rather the changes her body is going through. She reflected on how aging has affected her self-image and intimacy.
Despite these challenges, Shields is open about her experiences and the importance of physical intimacy in a relationship. Her memoir is out now, offering a raw and honest perspective on aging as a woman.
