Dayton: So, three of Texas’ most wanted guys are finally off the streets. The Texas Department of Public Safety announced that they’re back in custody after some serious teamwork from law enforcement and tips from folks in the community.

First up is Michael Petterson, a 55-year-old high-risk sex offender. He got nabbed in Dayton on November 27. State troopers and special agents teamed up with the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force to make it happen. They didn’t spill the beans on how they tracked him down, though.

Petterson has a pretty rough past. He was convicted of aggravated sexual assault back in 1991 and has had a string of other legal troubles since then. He landed on the most wanted list this year after not keeping up with his sex offender registration.

Then there’s Christopher Garay, who was caught on November 29 in San Antonio. Police got a tip from Crime Stoppers, which led to his arrest. He had a history of aggravated robbery and was on parole when he got into more trouble, leading to another warrant for his arrest.

Lastly, Johnny Wilson, 54, was arrested in Grand Prairie after another tip came in. He was first suspected of murder back in 2019 but managed to escape after messing with his ankle monitor. It’s good to see these guys back in custody.

The Texas DPS mentioned that they’ve arrested 44 fugitives, sex offenders, and illegal immigrants from the most wanted list this year alone. They’re also offering up to $32,000 in rewards for tips that lead to arrests. If you’ve got info, you can call the Crime Stoppers hotline or hit them up online. And remember, all tips are anonymous!
