Rose Hill police are close to finishing their investigation into the tragic death of 6-year-old Kennedy Jean Schroer.
Police Chief Taylor Parlier mentioned they hope to present their findings to the County Attorney soon, maybe within a month. They’re making sure they’ve covered all bases and have a complete picture of what happened.
The investigation kicked off after a call about an adult in distress at a home. When officers arrived, they found out about a possible past homicide. The next day, they discovered a child’s body in the backyard, which had been buried for a while.
Sadly, it turned out to be Kennedy, who was born in July 2014. Investigators believe she died back in November 2020. The last update from the police was in November, saying they were waiting on some warrants that were taking longer than expected.
It’s a tough situation, and the police are committed to keeping everyone informed as they move forward.
