Mark McCrum expresses doubt about whether Prince Harry ever read their collaboration
Interestingly, McCrum never actually met Harry during the process. Instead, he got videos of Harry while he was in Norway, preparing to meet the soldiers. One of those videos even showed Harry in a polar kit, submerged in ice.
McCrum mentioned that while the video was meant for him, it didn’t really give any deep insights into Harry’s experience. He recalled that the word “amazing” came up a lot in the footage.
Despite all the work that went into the book, McCrum doubts Harry ever read the final version that hit the shelves. He said, “Whether Harry read it himself, I have no idea.”
He also compared his experience to that of JR Moehringer, who ghostwrote Harry’s later memoir, “Spare.” McCrum thinks Moehringer had a much tougher job, especially since “Spare” became a massive hit and stirred up even more drama between the Sussexes and the royal family.
