Fans were devastated when the One Direction charity film screening was abruptly canceled due to technical issues at the Manchester venue
It was around 7:55 PM when the announcement hit. A technical fault, they said, something about sound and projection issues that couldn’t be fixed in time. Marcus Owramenko, who was there, snapped some pics of the emptying auditorium.
He mentioned that the room was packed, mostly with young girls, all eager to see the film. After the news broke, they were told they’d get refunds, not just for the tickets but also for their snacks.
This screening was a special one-off event to honor their late band member, Liam Payne, and all ticket profits were meant to go to mental health charities. Odeon apologized for the hassle, saying they tried their best but just couldn’t make it happen. What a bummer for the fans!
