Laura Caron, a New Jersey teacher, faces charges for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old student and having a child with him
Cape May: A shocking case has emerged involving Laura Caron, a teacher in New Jersey. She allegedly had a child with a former student who was just 13 years old.
According to reports, Caron, 34, was living with the boy and his siblings from 2016 to 2020. The situation came to light when the boy’s father noticed a striking resemblance between Caron’s child and his son on social media.
Caron first met the boy when she taught him and his brother in fifth grade. The family was close with her, allowing their kids to stay over at her house frequently.
During those years, Caron is accused of having inappropriate sexual relations with the boy, which led to her becoming pregnant and giving birth in 2019.
The boy’s sister told investigators that she often saw her brother sleeping in Caron’s bed, raising concerns about their relationship.
Now, the former student, who is in his late teens, has revealed the details of their relationship and confirmed he is the father of Caron’s child.
After the father’s Facebook post in December 2024, police arrested Caron on January 15, 2025. She faces serious charges, including Aggravated Sexual Assault.
Caron is currently being held without bond at the Cape May County Correctional Facility. The local prosecutor emphasized the importance of protecting children and the breach of trust involved in this case.
Meanwhile, the Middle Township School District has placed Caron on paid administrative leave and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
