Maryland is seeking public feedback through a survey to shape its State Parks Strategic Plan and improve recreational spaces.
Maryland: The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is working on a new plan for land preservation and recreation. They’re launching their first State Parks Strategic Plan.
These plans aim to conserve land, protect ecosystems, and improve recreational options for everyone in the state.
To get input, DNR is using an online survey run by ETC Institute, a market research firm. They’ve picked a random group of Maryland residents to ensure a good mix of opinions.
A DNR spokesperson reassured that the survey is secure and authorized by the department. So, if you get it, you can trust it’s legit.
Besides the survey, there will be public workshops in March where residents can voice their thoughts. There will be four sessions in different locations across the state.
These workshops will focus on what people want for land preservation and recreation in Maryland.
More details will be posted on DNR’s website later in January, so keep an eye out for that.
The feedback from the community, along with DNR’s current land interests, will help shape future land acquisitions and recreational developments in Maryland.
