Irlam: A scary situation unfolded when an 11-year-old girl was almost abducted on her way to school. It happened on Tuesday morning around 8:30 AM.

The girl was approached by a man and a woman on Silver Street, near Cutnook Lane. They reportedly tried to grab her, but she managed to escape and run to safety.

Witnesses say the suspects were driving around in a car and a van before they sped off. Greater Manchester Police are on the case, but no arrests have been made yet.

The male suspect is described as white, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with short dark hair, wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. The woman was also white and wore leggings and a black hoodie.

The car was a black four-door vehicle, and the van was small, white, and looked new with a sliding door.

Police are asking locals to check their dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from that time. If anyone saw something suspicious, they should reach out to the police.

Detective Inspector Justin Bryant reassured the community, saying they’re doing everything possible to investigate. He urged anyone with information or footage to come forward, as it could really help.
