Plymouth: Liverpool is set to play away against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup fourth round. It’s quite a trek, nearly 300 miles from Anfield to Home Park.

Arne Slot’s team has a tough challenge ahead, especially since Plymouth is struggling at the bottom of the Championship. They’ve had a rough start to the season, winning only four league matches.

Interestingly, Plymouth managed to pull off a surprise win against Brentford in the last round, thanks to a late goal from Morgan Whittaker. This match will be their first against Liverpool since 2017, when they drew 0-0 at Anfield.

Back then, Jurgen Klopp fielded a very young squad, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez. The last time they met before that was in 1962, and Plymouth has never played in the top division.

After being promoted to the Championship in 2023, Plymouth barely avoided relegation last season. They’ve never made it past the FA Cup semi-finals, so they’ll be the underdogs in this matchup.

Plymouth is also known for its historical significance in the US, as the Mayflower set sail from there in 1620. That’s where the club gets its nickname, the Pilgrims.
