LiAngelo Ball has landed a $13 million deal with Def Jam after his song “Tweaker” went viral, showcasing his new venture into music.

His song “Tweaker” dropped on January 4 and blew up, racking up nearly eight million views on YouTube. That’s some serious buzz!
With this deal, he’s keeping full control of his music and label, Born2Ball Music Group. In just nine days, his video has already pulled in about $26,000 in revenue. Not too shabby, right?
You know, the Ball brothers have dabbled in music before. Lonzo, the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, released a track called “Z02” back in 2019, but it didn’t quite hit the same heights as LiAngelo’s new jam.
LiAngelo wasn’t as highly recruited in high school as his brothers, who both went top three in their drafts. He went undrafted in 2018 and had a few chances with teams like the Pistons and Hornets but never made it to the NBA.
He did make headlines overseas in Lithuania, scoring 72 points in a single game, which was wild! But despite his G-League debut where he scored 22 points, he’s still looking for that NBA spot.
This music deal might just be a sign that he’s shifting gears away from basketball for good.
