Kelly Ripa recently thanked the casting director who helped her find Mark Consuelos, sharing their love story on live TV.

New York: Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have a special person to thank for their love story. On a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Ripa shared a sweet moment from an event celebrating the 55th anniversary of All My Children.
She was excited to talk about the gathering, which took place at the 92nd Street Y and was hosted by Andy Cohen and Susan Lucci. Many cast members were there, along with the show’s head writer and casting director Judy Blye Wilson. Ripa praised Wilson, saying she was “the reason that Mark Consuelos and I are married.”
Ripa joked that Wilson not only cast her in the show but also found her a husband. Consuelos, who played Mateo, chimed in, saying he wanted to thank Wilson for discovering him. He recalled how she found him in Tampa and fought for him to get the role.
He mentioned that he had to audition multiple times while juggling other work. Consuelos expressed his gratitude, saying, “If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be here.”
Ripa also remembered the moment Wilson told her about Consuelos being cast. She was in Wilson’s office when she heard, “I think I found Mateo.” Ripa was impressed by Consuelos’ headshot and felt he was the perfect fit, even though she wasn’t sure what they were looking for.
She exclaimed, “You found this guy in Florida? What?” It’s a lovely reminder of how fate works in unexpected ways. Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays, so don’t forget to check your local listings!
