Tampa: John Daly had to rush into emergency hand surgery this week. He shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo from his hospital bed in Florida.

He expressed his gratitude, saying, “Emergency hand surgery… thankful [it] went great and Doc McClimans for taking care of me. Be back playing in no time!” In another post, he thanked the medical team again and promised to hit the golf course “soon.”

Daly’s had a tough few months. His home in Clearwater, Florida, was wrecked by Hurricane Helene in October, and several friends and family members faced similar losses. He mentioned, “I’m just glad everyone is healthy, that’s the main thing.”

The golfer, known for his wild lifestyle, was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2020. After surgery to remove it, he noted there’s a chance it could come back. “Luckily for me, they caught it early, but bladder cancer is something that I don’t know all the details,” he said.

Daly has been a part of the PGA Tour since 1991, winning five tournaments, including two majors: the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 Open Championship. He’s hoping for a speedy recovery and a quick return to the game he loves.
