Interstate 5 will see lane closures Monday night for construction work, impacting traffic flow.

Don’t worry too much, though. At least one lane will stay open in each direction, so traffic can keep moving. David House from ODOT mentioned that the closures will happen sometime between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., but they haven’t nailed down the exact times yet.
While crews are working, they’ll be shifting barriers and doing some work on the shoulder. ODOT is asking everyone to slow down and be careful, especially with workers around.
This construction is aimed at easing the southbound traffic congestion. They kicked off the project in 2024, and it should wrap up by 2026. They’ve already shifted traffic to make room for three lanes southbound, plus they’re building sound walls, replacing bridges, and paving both directions.
