The Giants have let go of two coaches following a tough 3-14 season, signaling a shift in their coaching strategy

On Wednesday, they fired defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson and safeties coach Michael Treier. Both coaches were part of the previous staff, and with new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen in place, it was time for a fresh start.
Henderson had been with the Giants since 2020 and even interviewed for the defensive coordinator job last year. He was well-liked but faced criticism after the team struggled, especially with rookie cornerback Deonte Banks.
Co-owner John Mara expressed frustration with the defense, saying he was tired of watching teams easily move the ball against them. While some thought Bowen might be on shaky ground, it seems his job is safe for now.
The players had a tough time adjusting to Bowen’s new defensive style, which was a big change from the previous aggressive approach. Although the Giants allowed fewer passing yards, their run defense was a major issue, ranking 27th in the league. It’s clear the team has a lot of work ahead to turn things around.
