San Francisco: The SF SPCA is gearing up to take in 30 dogs and cats from shelters in Southern California. These pets are coming from areas hit hard by wildfires. The goal is to help those shelters that are overflowing with animals.

In response to the crisis, many adoptable pets are being moved to San Francisco. This way, the shelters in LA can focus on reuniting lost pets with their families. Dr. Jennifer Scarlett, the CEO of the SF SPCA, highlighted how crucial shelters are during emergencies.

Last weekend, the SPCA kicked off a promotion for free puppy adoptions. It was a hit! They found homes for 25 puppies and 46 other animals. Now, they’re looking for more volunteers to help foster dogs as they prepare for the incoming pets.

More transports from LA are on the way, thanks to Amelia Air Rescue. The SF SPCA is asking for extra space to accommodate these new arrivals. If you’re curious about the pets available for adoption, check out their website or visit the shelter at 250 Florida Street, open Tuesday to Sunday.
