Two detectives are under investigation for alleged misconduct involving overtime payments and sexual coercion
New York: Two detectives tied to former NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey are caught up in a federal investigation. They’re looking into a scandal involving overtime pay and sexual misconduct.
Detective Ingrid Sanders, who used to drive for Maddrey, and Detective Ada Reyes had their homes searched by the FBI. Sources say they’re now subjects of this investigation.
The feds are checking if federal funds were misused for overtime payments. Luckily, neither detective is facing charges at this point.
This whole mess started after a report about Lieutenant Quathisha Epps, who claimed Maddrey coerced her into sexual acts while she was racking up huge overtime pay.
Epps, who made over $400,000 last year, accused Maddrey of being a predator. He’s denied the allegations, claiming their relationship was consensual.
Both Sanders and Reyes have gotten lawyers, and it seems like they’re preparing for a tough fight ahead. The fallout from this scandal is still unfolding, and it’s shaking up the NYPD.
