Fremont: Exciting news! A new high-rise is on the way in the East Entertainment District. The Las Vegas City Council just gave the green light for a 17-story building.

This tower, called Triple 7 Fremont, will rise 196 feet at the corner of Fremont and 8th streets. It’s set to have 338 apartments and over 9,000 square feet for businesses.

The folks behind the project, WDG Limited, emphasized the urgent need for housing, especially with the ongoing crisis. They mentioned that wildfires in California are making things worse.

Out of the 338 units, there will be a mix: 72 studios, 184 one-bedrooms, 70 two-bedrooms, and 2 three-bedrooms. They’ve designed the units to be smaller to keep them affordable, but we don’t know the rent prices yet.

The first four floors will be for parking, while the upper floors will house the apartments. There are also plans for some cool amenities like a lobby, fitness room, pet park, and even a rooftop pool!

Initially, city staff were against the project, saying it was too much for the site. However, the mayor and council members approved it, with a condition that construction plans must be submitted within a year.
