New York City: Brooke Shields recently shared a troubling experience she had with two male doctors after suffering a grand mal seizure. During an appearance on “Good Morning America,” she revealed that they asked her if she was restricting her diet. She pointed out how inappropriate that question was, saying, “You wouldn’t say that to a man.”

Shields, who is 59, humorously responded, “No. I’m a 59-year-old woman who looks younger bloated. Give me some potato chips!” This incident happened while she was preparing for a one-woman show in 2023.

In a Glamour interview, she explained that her sodium levels dropped after drinking too much water. She even mentioned that Bradley Cooper was there holding her hand during the ambulance ride. Shields emphasized the importance of women advocating for themselves in medical situations.

She discussed this experience in her new memoir, “Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman.” Shields believes that change won’t come from just yelling about these issues but from being secure in one’s beliefs and making sure they are heard.

In addition to this incident, she also talked about a male plastic surgeon who treated her poorly after a procedure. He told her she received a “little bonus” during surgery, which she described as an “irreversible invasion.” Shields compared it to a form of violation, emphasizing that there was no need for such a procedure.

Her memoir was released recently, and it dives deeper into her experiences and thoughts on aging as a woman.
