Danny Evans-Tomkinson receives ‘life changer of the year’ award at Buckingham Palace for his dedication to special needs students

Danny helps them take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s award, making sure everyone can join in, no matter their abilities. The charity praised him for his support and encouragement, saying he goes above and beyond for his students.
He was honored at a fancy event at Buckingham Palace, alongside other winners. This event, called This is Youth, highlights the inspiring stories of those involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Danny was pretty emotional about the recognition. He said it felt surreal to be named life changer of the year. He believes the DofE program is crucial for young people, giving them chances to challenge themselves and dream big.
Karthi Gnanasegaram, one of the event hosts, praised Danny’s dedication. He even tests paths to ensure they’re wheelchair-friendly, showing his commitment to helping all students. Plus, he’s preparing them for adulthood, which is a huge bonus.
