The daughters of Tony Bennett claim their brother mishandled the family trust and funds after their father’s passing in 2023

Antonia and Johanna have been in a legal fight with Danny since last June, just a year after Tony passed away at 96. They’re beneficiaries of The Tony Bennett 1994 Family Trust and have sued Danny, who’s the only trustee, over missing assets after their father’s death.
Danny tried to get the case moved to a different court or dismissed, but the sisters pushed back, saying they’re worried about how he’s handling things. They claim he took a lot of money from the trust for himself and his kids, especially after their dad’s health declined.
They also want to see how Danny managed their father’s finances, saying he wasn’t transparent and acted without supervision. The sisters argue that their dad wanted all his kids to be treated equally, but they feel that’s not happening.
They allege Danny wrote checks to himself without proper approval, totaling over $200,000, and took monthly advances of $50,000 starting in 2021. They’re also questioning a deal Danny made to sell Tony’s assets, claiming their dad still had plenty of money at that time.
The sisters say Danny has been giving himself and his kids gifts from the trust, while they’ve only received a fraction of what he has. They’re looking for more clarity on the payments Danny made to himself, suspecting they might be way too high based on Tony’s income.
Tony set up the trust in 1994, naming Danny and their brother Dae as co-trustees. After some changes in 2008, it was just Tony and Danny as the trustees. The Post has reached out to Danny’s lawyer for a response.
