A new poll reveals Biden’s approval rating at 36%, with many Americans deeming his presidency a failure.
Washington: President Biden is wrapping up his time in office with an approval rating that’s hit rock bottom. A recent poll shows only 36% of Americans think he’s done a good job. That’s tied for his lowest ever.
When it comes to specific issues, things look even worse. Just 31% approve of how he’s handled immigration, 32% for foreign affairs, and 33% for the economy. Ouch!
Even on his best issues, like environmental policy and healthcare, he’s still under 50% approval. A whopping 61% of folks think his presidency has been a failure, which is a stark contrast to how people viewed past Democratic presidents like Clinton and Obama.
Many Americans are pointing the finger at Biden himself for his struggles. About 42% blame his personal shortcomings, while only 19% think it’s due to outside factors.
As he prepares to leave, inflation has been a big issue, with food and gas prices soaring. Plus, immigration has surged, with millions entering the country, many illegally.
Biden’s foreign policy has also faced criticism, especially after the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan and the recent spy balloon incident. A separate poll even found that most Americans think he’ll be remembered as a below-average president.
In fact, only 6% believe he’ll go down in history as outstanding, while 37% think he’ll be seen as below average. It’s a tough spot for the president as he heads out.
