A recent poll reveals that many Americans doubt the fairness of the Justice Department and FBI during Trump’s presidency

Washington: A new poll shows that only about 20% of U.S. adults feel confident the Justice Department will be fair under Trump. This survey was done before his Cabinet confirmation hearings.
People’s trust in the FBI is also shaky. Even some Republicans are unsure about these agencies, which could make it tough for Trump to regain their trust after his past criticisms.
Interestingly, while many Americans have negative views of Trump’s nominees, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stands out. He’s popular among Republicans, even though he’s a controversial figure.
As for the Justice Department and FBI, half of Americans lack confidence in their impartiality. About a third feel somewhat confident, while only 20% are very confident.
Republicans are divided too. Only a quarter feel very confident in these agencies, while about 40% are somewhat confident. The rest are not very confident at all.
This uncertainty might stem from Trump and his allies heavily criticizing these agencies in recent years. For instance, Pam Bondi, a nominee, has called prosecutors going after Trump “horrible.”
On the other hand, the poll shows that many Americans are not thrilled about Trump’s Cabinet picks. Only 20% approve of Pete Hegseth as defense secretary, and similar numbers apply to other nominees.
While many Republicans support Hegseth and others, a lot of them don’t know much about these nominees. There’s also skepticism about Trump’s choice of people without government experience.
However, Kennedy’s nomination is a hit among Republicans, with 60% approving of him as health secretary. Still, overall, many Americans have mixed feelings about him.
