Aurora: So, here’s the scoop. Aurora Public Schools is dealing with a big internet and phone outage. Because of this, they’re delaying the start of school on Thursday and Friday.

The public information officer, Corey Christiansen, mentioned that they noticed some “potential suspicious activity” in their network. To keep everything safe, they decided to shut down the internet and phone services for now.

They’re running a two-hour delayed schedule. Unfortunately, this means morning preschool is canceled on Thursday, but afternoon preschool will still happen. Just a heads up, preschool doesn’t meet on Fridays anyway.

The district hopes to have everything back to normal by Tuesday, right after the Martin Luther King Jr. Day break. Christiansen said they’re working hard to fix the issue, but it’s going to take a bit more time.

Security officers are keeping an eye on things, and even though the internet is down, the intercom systems are still working. They’ve printed out emergency contact info to make sure families can stay in touch with their kids.
