A winter storm watch is in effect for Massachusetts, with significant snowfall expected Sunday night into Monday morning
They’ve got their eyes on several counties, including parts of Western Franklin and Northern Worcester. The watch lasts until 7 a.m. Monday.
Saturday will start off warm, but rain is expected in the late afternoon. By Saturday night, things should clear up a bit.
Then, Sunday afternoon, the snow will kick in. We’re talking about plowable snow starting late Sunday and sticking around into the night.
According to the latest snow map, most of southern New England could see 3-6 inches. The Cape and Islands might get a bit less, around 1-3 inches.
But some areas in New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts could see up to 8 inches.
Keep in mind, the storm track can shift, which might change the snow totals. So, it’s good to stay updated as we get closer to Sunday.
Once the snow clears, a cold snap is coming. Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday might only hit the teens.
