Erie: A winter storm watch is in effect for Erie County, and it looks like we’re in for some serious snow. The National Weather Service has warned us about heavy lake-effect snow starting Tuesday at 1 a.m. and lasting until Thursday at 1 a.m. Ashtabula County in Ohio is also under this watch.

Temperatures are going to drop into the teens, and with the wind chill, it could feel even colder. If you’re in Chautauqua County, New York, they’ve issued a lake-effect snow warning from Monday afternoon through Thursday morning.

So, what can we expect? Erie could see anywhere from 8 to 16 inches of snow during this watch. Travel might get tricky, especially with the heaviest snowfall expected on Tuesday. We could get 5 to 9 inches during the day, plus another couple of inches overnight.

Monday night, temperatures will dip to around 15 degrees, and the wind will make it feel like zero. Tuesday’s high will be about 21, but with the wind chill, it could feel like minus 2.

Wednesday will be a bit warmer, with highs near 25 and lows around 12. If you’re planning to travel, keep an eye on the weather updates. It’s going to be a snowy few days ahead!
