Wigan councillors are calling for better public transport to Haigh Hall, citing current links as inadequate for public access.

During their visit, they had to take two buses and then walk for 45 minutes. That’s a bit much, right? One councillor pointed out that the path from the Plantation Gates isn’t even level, making it tough for people to get there.
Plus, the cost adds up. Four bus rides can be a lot for some folks. They also mentioned that there should be better signs at the bus stop to help people find their way to Haigh Hall.
If it’s a hassle to get there, people might not want to visit again. A shuttle bus or even a golf buggy for staff could really help. One councillor noted that even on a nice day, the journey was tricky, and bad weather would make it even worse. Everyone agreed that getting to Haigh Hall without a car is a real challenge.
