Christopher Macchio, a tenor, gained fame singing the National Anthem at Trump’s inauguration, showcasing his talent and political ties.
Macchio, 46, has been around the music scene for a while. He calls himself “America’s tenor” and has a solid background in concert singing. He didn’t even think about singing until a teacher pointed out his talent.
He studied classical voice at the Manhattan School of Music and made his debut in a PBS concert. Since then, he’s been on major networks like Fox and NBC, and he’s even performed with big names like David Foster.
He’s got a couple of albums out too, including a Christmas one. Plus, he regularly sings at places like Carnegie Hall. His connection with Trump started about ten years ago when he filled in for another singer at a New Year’s Eve party. Trump was impressed and has been a fan ever since.
Macchio has performed at various Trump events, including the White House and campaign rallies. He’s even said that Trump’s late brother was a big fan of his singing.
Despite his political ties, Macchio believes in the power of music to unite people. He was looking forward to performing for a big crowd at the inauguration but had to adjust when it moved indoors due to the cold. Still, he felt honored to sing for the occasion.
