Find out when the Senate might vote on Pete Hegseth’s confirmation and what to expect

Oklahoma: So, the Senate confirmation hearings for Trump’s cabinet kicked off recently, and Pete Hegseth was in the spotlight for the Department of Defense position.
After the hearing wraps up, the committee needs to recommend him to the full Senate. If the majority agrees, he’ll face the final vote to secure his spot.
Even though Trump hadn’t been sworn in yet, his cabinet could still get confirmed before he took the oath. So, when can we expect the Senate to vote on Hegseth and the others?
Right now, there’s no set date for the confirmation vote. Hegseth needs the Senate Armed Services Committee’s approval first. Reports say they might vote as soon as Monday on whether to send him to the full Senate.
As for the rest of Trump’s cabinet, there’s no specific day for all the votes. The Senate votes on each nominee as their committees finish up. So, it could happen quickly or take a while, depending on how fast the committees work.
Why is there no schedule for these votes? Well, it’s partly because things are more complicated now than they used to be. The Center for Presidential Transition mentions that while the Senate can act fast, it still takes time to get through all the nominations.
Looking back, during Trump’s first term, 12 cabinet nominees had hearings before he was inaugurated, and nine were confirmed in the first month. In contrast, Biden had only four hearings before his inauguration and six confirmations after a month.
