New Bedford: Every year, on the third Monday of January, we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It’s a federal holiday, so many places close up shop.

Since it’s a federal holiday, you can expect all federal offices to be closed. That includes the Registry of Motor Vehicles and the U.S. Postal Service, which won’t be delivering mail.
