Calgarians can now enjoy non-stop flights to Mexico City with WestJet’s new service beginning May 14

They’ll be running five flights a week from YYC Airport to Mexico City International Airport. This is a big deal because it opens up a ton of opportunities for both business and leisure travelers.
Daniel Fajardo, WestJet’s VP, mentioned that this route is crucial for Alberta’s businesses to connect with one of North America’s biggest markets.
Alisha Reynolds, the CEO of Tourism Calgary, is also thrilled. She believes this will not only help Calgarians visit Mexico City but also attract travelers from there to Calgary.
She said, “Calgarians will be excited to explore the art and culture in Mexico City, and it’s a great chance for Mexican travelers to visit Calgary.”
Tourism Calgary has big plans, aiming to double the city’s visitor economy from $3 billion to $6 billion in the next ten years. They know that having good air access is key to making that happen.
With this new route, WestJet will serve 13 cities in Mexico from 24 Canadian cities by 2025. They’re really expanding their network, having added six Asian destinations last year too. It’s an exciting time for travel!
