Discover the top 10 grocery items I can’t live without from Costco for my two-person household
Boston: I hit up Costco at least once a week, usually keeping my spending under $100. It’s become a bit of a routine for me and my husband.
When I go, I always grab Boston lettuce, Kerrygold Irish butter, and artisan rolls. Seriously, I feel like I practically live there!
Costco is my go-to for fresh ingredients. I love cooking, and they have everything I need. Here are my top picks, though I don’t buy all of them every trip since some last longer.
For carbs, I can’t resist the Kirkland Signature artisan rolls. They come in a pack of 12 for about $7. They’re crusty outside and soft inside, perfect for salads or just as a side.
And if we don’t finish them, they freeze well, which is a bonus!
For breakfast, I top my yogurt with NuTrail nut granola. It’s crunchy, slightly sweet, and has no added sugar. A 22-ounce bag costs around $10, which is a steal compared to regular stores.
To add even more crunch, I toss in some Kirkland Signature cashews. They’re $13 for a 40-ounce bag, and I won’t buy cashews anywhere else!
Kerrygold Irish butter is a must-have in my fridge. It’s rich and creamy, and I love it on rolls for breakfast. A pack of four 8-ounce sticks is about $15.50 and lasts me the week.
Norwegian smoked salmon is another staple. At $14.50 a pound, a 12-ounce pack lasts us a week. I love it on a roll with onion, tomato, and cream cheese, just like in NYC delis.
For dinner, I often grab Kirkland Signature organic chicken breasts for about $6 a pound. I bake them or slice them for cutlets, and I even boil some for my dog.
Better than Bouillon is a pantry essential for me. A 21-ounce jar is only $9 and lasts a while. I use it with white wine and lemon for my chicken cutlets.
Avocados are another favorite. A bag costs about $8 and lasts us a week. I use them in salads and lunches, usually just a quarter at a time.
Boston lettuce is my go-to for salads. It’s soft and crunchy, and a three-head clamshell costs $7 and lasts a week.
Finally, I love Campari tomatoes, especially in colder months. A clamshell is just over $5, and they’re perfect for salads with olive oil, lemon, and Parmesan.
So, that’s my Costco haul! I can’t wait to share more of my grocery adventures with you.
