Warrington pubs are joining forces in a national darts competition to find the next big talent after Luke Littler’s recent victory
Warrington: Pubs in Warrington are buzzing with excitement as they dive into a national competition to find the next darts star. It’s all about discovering fresh talent after Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler, a local 17-year-old, just made history by winning the PDC World Darts Championship.
Can you believe he beat Michael Van Gerwen 7-3? That’s a huge deal! Now, pubs across the northwest are getting in on the action, hoping to uncover the next big name in darts.
This event, organized by Proper Pubs and backed by Fosters, will follow a fun best-of-three legs format. Two pubs, Chapel House in Burtonwood and Royal Oak Branch in Latchford, are among those participating in this exciting search.
In total, 45 pubs are joining the hunt, including Little Pig and Boars Head in St Helens. The heats kicked off on Monday and will run until February 7. Each week, two players will move on to their pub’s final, leading to eight finalists overall.
The pub finals are set for the week of February 10, and the winners will head to the regional finals the following week. The top four from the nine regional finals will compete in the grand finale on March 2 at the Town Hall Tavern in Oldham, all vying for a £1,000 prize.
