Warrington: A local charity is giving a big shout-out to its staff for keeping things running smoothly during the recent snowstorm. The Walton Lea Partnership, located in Higher Walton, provides essential support and learning opportunities for adults with additional needs.

Despite the heavy snowfall, the team managed to keep half of the site open, allowing those who needed services to still come in. Jo McClure, the care and safeguarding manager, shared how everyone pitched in to make it happen.

Each morning, a manager was on-site early to check safety and figure out what could be safely offered. Even with some areas closed, everyone who needed access was able to come in. The staff organized fun activities like karaoke, making fruit salad, and even building Lego snowmen.

Parents and guardians were thrilled with the positive feedback, praising the staff’s ‘heroic’ efforts. Jo noted that while everyone might be tired of the snow, the team rose to the challenge and really knocked it out of the park. It was a week filled with laughter, learning, and a lot of cake!
