Rochdale: A walker had a rough day after taking a tumble at a reservoir. It happened at Greenbooth near Norden, and mountain rescuers were called in around 10:40 AM on Friday. The weather was pretty harsh, with freezing temperatures and ice all around.

The walker was bundled up to keep warm before being airlifted to the hospital. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on what kind of injury they sustained.

The Rossendale Mountain Rescue Team mentioned that they were initially called to help by the Oldham Mountain Rescue Team. They assessed the situation and requested the North West Air Ambulance Charity for assistance.

The walker was carefully placed in a vacuum mattress to keep them insulated from the cold before being transferred to the helicopter. Interestingly, this was the third time this year that the rescue team had to respond to incidents at Greenbooth. Just a couple of days into the new year, they helped two women who also fell and hurt their legs.
