Virginia: The “Thank A Teacher Art Contest” is back for its eighth year. It’s a fun way for students to show appreciation for their teachers.

The Virginia Lottery is teaming up with Supply Room for this cool contest. Students can create artwork that might end up on thank-you notes sent to teachers.

These notes will be given out during National Teacher Appreciation Week in May. It’s a great way to spread some love to educators.

Students from kindergarten to 12th grade can submit their art online until February 3. There will be one winner from each school level.

The winning schools will receive $2,000, and the students will get a $200 Visa gift card. How awesome is that?

Winners will be announced in March, and starting in April, anyone can send a thank-you note to a Virginia teacher.

So far, over 500,000 thank-you notes have been sent out. Each note has a special code that teachers can use to enter for a chance to win $2,500 in classroom supplies and another $2,500 in cash from the Virginia Lottery.
