Washington: So, JD Vance recently made some pretty clear statements about the Capitol attack. He said that Trump supporters who were violent during that day shouldn’t be pardoned if Trump gets back into office.

He shared his thoughts on Fox News, saying that while Trump had hinted at pardoning some people, those who committed violence should definitely not be included. Vance emphasized that if you were violent, you shouldn’t expect a pardon.

However, he did mention that they would still consider pardons for others who might have been unfairly treated in the legal system. It’s a bit of a mixed message, right?

Over 1,200 people have faced charges related to the Capitol attack, which was a serious event that led to multiple deaths and injuries. Trump, after winning the election again, had said he might look into pardoning those involved, claiming they were victims of a corrupt system.

Vance’s comments didn’t sit well with some of Trump’s supporters, who felt he was being too harsh. One supporter even pointed out that if Trump got off easy in his own legal troubles, then his supporters should too.

Vance later tried to clarify that he and Trump would review each case individually, especially for those who might have been unjustly convicted. He reiterated that they care about people who got a raw deal in court. It’s definitely a complicated situation, and opinions are all over the place.
