Former Florida coach Urban Meyer has been elected to the College Football Hall of Fame, celebrating his impressive career.
Meyer had a stellar run at Florida, winning two national championships in 2006 and 2008. He was selected on the first ballot, joining the ranks of coaching legends like Nick Saban in the 2025 class.
During his six seasons at UF, Meyer posted a record of 65-15. He was the first coach in the Football Bowl Subdivision to achieve back-to-back 13-win seasons, leading to a remarkable 22-game winning streak.
However, his time at Florida wasn’t without drama. After a challenging 2009 season, he briefly resigned before returning for one more year. He ultimately left to focus on his health and family.
Meyer later took the helm at Ohio State, where he enjoyed even more success, finishing with an 83-9 record and winning another national title in 2014. His last coaching job was with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but now he works as an analyst for Fox Sports.
Overall, Meyer’s college coaching record stands at an impressive 187-32, making him one of the most successful coaches in modern college football history. He also signed notable players like Tim Tebow during his time at Florida, contributing to the Gators’ legacy.
