Miami: A brand new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league called Unrivaled is launching this Friday. Six teams will battle it out for the championship title, and it’s going to be exciting!

The season runs until March 17, with games mostly on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays. You can catch two games each night on TNT or TruTv. Candace Parker, a former WNBA star, will host a studio show during the broadcasts, so you won’t want to miss it.

This league features 36 WNBA players, with six players on each of the six teams. It was founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, both WNBA All-Stars and Olympic gold medalists. Other big names include Sabrina Ionescu and Angel Reese, so the talent is top-notch.

Most players are earning over $100,000, making this the highest average salary in any women’s sports league. There’s a whopping $8 million salary pool! Plus, players will get an equity stake in the league. They’re even holding a 1-on-1 tournament in February, with a $250,000 prize for the winner.

Games will take place in a new 850-seat arena in Miami. The teams—Laces, Mist, Rose, Lunar Owls, Phantom, and Vinyl—will play on a smaller court than the WNBA, which should make for some fast-paced action.

The competition rules are unique, with three seven-minute quarters and a fourth quarter that’s not timed. Teams will play to a “winning score,” which adds 11 points to the leading team’s score after three quarters. This means every game will have a game-winning shot, which is pretty cool!

Players will also enjoy some great amenities. The Unrivaled facility has a top-notch weight room, a glamour room, and even a personal chef. They’re provided with free housing in two-bedroom apartments and rental cars, making it a sweet deal for the players.

Rae Burrell, who plays for the Los Angeles Sparks, mentioned how well they’re being taken care of, with meals and snacks always available. It sounds like a fantastic setup for these talented athletes!
