Storrs: Paige Bueckers looked great after missing two games with a knee injury. She jumped right back in during UConn’s 71-45 win over St. John’s.

“I’m feeling good,” she said after the game. Bueckers scored 12 points in just 23 minutes. It was her first game back, and she was eager to get back into the groove.

In the first half, she struggled a bit, going 1-for-4, but UConn still held a solid lead. Coach Geno Auriemma noted that it’s normal to have some hiccups after time off.

Once the third quarter rolled around, Bueckers found her rhythm, hitting three mid-range jumpers in quick succession. That helped UConn pull away and secure the win.

She missed games against Xavier and Georgetown but is now just six points away from becoming UConn’s 12th player to score 2,000 points. That’s a big deal!

Bueckers was injured in a game against Villanova when another player landed on her leg. It was tough to see her limp off the court, but she’s back now and ready to make an impact.

She was the national player of the year as a freshman, but injuries have kept her off the court more than she’d like. Still, she’s determined and has started 54 games over the last two seasons.
