Martin: Martin and Indian River counties have made quite the splash in SmartAsset’s 2024 study. They landed at No. 6 and No. 9 for being paycheck-friendly in Florida.

SmartAsset, which focuses on helping folks with financial education, looked at several factors to come up with these rankings. They checked out things like semimonthly paychecks, purchasing power, unemployment rates, and income growth.

For Martin County, the average semimonthly paycheck is $2,487, with a purchasing power of 1.44. The unemployment rate sits at 3.6%, and income growth is at 7%. They scored a solid 90.03 on the paycheck-friendly index.

On the other hand, Indian River County has the same average paycheck of $2,487, but a slightly better purchasing power of 1.47. Their unemployment rate is a bit higher at 4.4%, and income growth is at 6.6%, giving them a score of 89.37.

SmartAsset also shared the top 10 counties in Florida for paycheck-friendliness, and it includes Union, Walton, St. Johns, Santa Rosa, Nassau, Martin, Sarasota, Clay, Indian River, and Collier.
