Savannah: On Saturday morning, a 66-year-old man was attacked by two guys pretending to be Amazon delivery workers. They barged into his home on Price Street, demanding to know where the money was. Then, they hit him in the head with something.

A 33-year-old man nearby saw one of the attackers running away in an Amazon jacket. The victim’s neighbor heard a loud noise and thought someone had fallen down the stairs, calling for help.

The police report mentioned that the victim wasn’t sure if anything was stolen. To help him out, a GoFundMe page has been set up since he works as a bartender at O’Connell’s Pub.

As of early January, Savannah had seen an increase in violent crimes, with 22 reported, up from 15 last year. The police are still investigating this incident.

An Amazon spokesperson confirmed that the attackers were not actual delivery workers and that they keep an eye out for unauthorized use of their uniforms. They also noted that delivery workers don’t usually knock on doors or ask for signatures unless it’s been arranged beforehand.
